Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me if you any other questions or need clarification of one of the answers below.

  • Your massage will take place at your home, provided you have enough space and privacy. I am currently only offering mobile massage, though in the future I intend to have an office for bodywork.

  • I take cash, any credit or debit cards, check, or venmo.

  • You should only undress as much as feels safe and comfortable for you. For modalities that require oil, many clients don’t remove underwear covering the pelvic region but it is helpful for the back to be free from straps and clasps. If remaining clothed feels best for you, there are plenty of modalities and techniques available for you to benefit from.

  • I will leave the massage room to give you privacy and to wash my hands while you undress and get comfortable on the table under the sheet.

  • During your session you will be covered by a clean linen as well as a blanket if desired. I will use professional draping techniques to uncover your limbs, back, and shoulders while maintaining secure coverage of the pelvic and chest regions. If we agree to do abdominal massage then I will skillfully place a chest covering. I use the same draping standards for all genders.

  • During intake, we will discuss your needs and desires around the session. Bodywork can include massage of the back, shoulders, neck, head, face, abdomen, arms, hands, feet, legs, glutes (professionally draped so as not to expose gluteal cleavage), and pectorals (muscles along the clavicle and armpit, not exposing or massaging breast/chest tissue). If there are any areas of the body which you do not like receiving massage or make you feel uncomfortable, let me know and I will not work those areas. Erotic or sexual massage as well as non erotic massage of genitalia is all valid work, but is out of the scope of my practice.

  • Make yourself comfortable! Your session is all about you and your needs. Try to relax. Don’t feel like you need to chat with me. Feel free to adjust yourself throughout the session, if you need something let me know.

  • This is extremely common! If you felt uncomfortable or the pressure was too much during a session and you didn’t feel comfortable saying something in person, feel free to email me. I will not take it personally. If speaking up during your massage is difficult for you, we can create a system where you can tap the table to let me know when something doesn’t feel good.

  • Typically massage feels relaxing. You may get sleepy and doze off — this is very common and totally okay. Depending on the type of bodywork you may feel long gliding strokes with oil, or broad compression over your clothes. Everyone experiences bodywork differently. If the work starts to bring up emotions or feelings this is also very common and okay. Whether you laugh or cry as a result of emotional release, you are safe and welcome to experience your feelings in my space.

  • Depending on the modality, you might feel sleepy and sluggish, or relaxed and stimulated. If you have had a deep tissue or MFT session, you might feel your body adjusting to the work — sometimes the muscles only partially release and you might experience some discomfort. Typically clients will feel more “free” or able to take deep breaths, decrease in pain and stress, or simply relaxed.

  • Yes! Some massage could be dangerous or damaging to the body when performed on someone with certain medical conditions or medications. This is why it is extremely important to be thorough with your intake paperwork and to notify me of any new diagnoses or experiences happening in your body.

  • It is customary to tip massage therapists and bodyworkers. If you are unable to for financial reasons that is okay!

  • Regular bodywork is great! If you can’t afford to have regular sessions, I will not judge or shame you. If you need sliding scale options to make bodywork more accessible, let me know and we can work it out.
